Join us in celebrating David Martinez III, who was unanimously selected as the next CEO of AZ Impact for Good!

As long-time supporters of their Nonprofit Lifecycles Program since 2018—including $75K in grant funding this year—and as the proud owner and host of their home at Legacy Place III, we couldn't be happier. When we created Legacy Place, the goal was simple: bring Arizona’s changemakers together to collaborate, innovate and thrive.

David’s deep roots in Arizona philanthropy and his collaborative spirit make him the perfect leader to champion our state's nonprofit sector. We look forward to continuing our partnership to build healthier, stronger communities across Arizona.

MAKING AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN (MAHA!) 1.0 MY “Y” STORY - How the YMCA Became the Catalyst for My Fitness and Wellness Improvement. This journey began when I returned to Springfield, Missouri, the first week of January 2026. I have been living in the Fort Payne, Alabama area – the home of the Country Music Group “ALABAMA” since July 3, 1989, after getting an honorable discharge from the Air Force (12 years). I finally felt confident that 2026 would be different this time around because there were several factors for improving my Fitness and Wellness (1) Fresh Start; (2) 68th Birthday October 2026; and (3) Belton High School Class of 77 might be having its 50th Reunion in 2027. It never occurred to me that America would be celebrating its 250th Anniversary and I recently learned that the YMCA is having its 175th Anniversary this year to top it off giving me two additional motivations for improving my fitness and wellness. This is the Y’s 175th Anniversary; therefore, I cannot think of a better tribute than presenting “My Y Story” – How the YMCA Became the Catalyst for My Fitness and Wellness Improvement. It ultimately became my CLARION CALL! I remember exactly when and where things began to turn for the worse for me with respect to my overall fitness and wellness. I will be turning 68 in October 2026, and I have nothing but time on my hands since I retired, so I joined the PAT JONES YMCA in Springfield, Missouri - It made all the difference in my world! I was 42 when I breached the 200 pounds barrier for the first time, and for the next 26 years I would come to pay a hefty price literally because by the time I reached 48, I found myself gasping at 300+ pounds and getting worse. I was informed by my optometrists that I was younger than normal to have cataracts. I retired Christmas week 2025 and was going home to Springfield, Missouri where I bought my home in July 2019 but did not live there until January 2026. I began to get really concerned with my fitness and wellness in general. I found this nugget on the PAT JONES YMCA web page on 27 June 2026, and it has been my CLARION CALL ever since. It reads as follows: “There's a Y In everybody! Every person who walks through the YMCA’s doors has a story to tell!” I began working on My “Y” Story the first week in February and over the following twelve months (1 Feb 2026 - 31 Jan 2027) I will reveal How the YMCA Became the Catalyst for My Fitness and Wellness Improvement, and now it will be MY Y STORY to share with you. STAY TUNED! I will be keeping everyone posted on my progress and share some of the many surprises I discovered over the 12-month period, good, bad, or indifferent. HINT: If the next six months (Aug - Jan) are anything like the first six months (Feb - Jul) it will truly be miraculous with no exaggeration. Even I have been pleasantly surprised thus far! Thank You, PAT JONES YMCA! FIND YOUR Y! Tracy “TK101” Wrigley, MPA

This week at Phoenix College, BHHS Legacy Foundation’s Backpack Buddies program brought the community together to ensure local students are equipped and ready to thrive this school year.

Through Backpack Buddies, children in foster care, students attending Title I schools, and kids from military families receive brand-new school uniforms, shoes, hygiene essentials, health screenings and school supplies.

When kids have what they need, their confidence soars both in and out of the classroom!

A massive thank you to our visionary partners—Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, Delta Dental of Arizona, Midwestern University, St. Mary's Food Bank, Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation, Gregory's Fresh Market—and every dedicated volunteer and sponsor who made this effort possible!

Healthy futures start with a strong first day of school!

Huge thanks to our friends at Valley View Medical Center for stepping up to fuel our Backpack Buddies program. By donating these essential school supplies, you are giving students the confidence and tools they need to succeed in the classroom from day one.

Thank you for investing in a brighter, healthier tomorrow for our youth!Valley View Medical Center is proud to support local students as they head back to the classroom this year. VVMC recently donated school supplies to the Legacy Foundation's Back Pack Buddies program, helping ensure children throughout our community have the tools they need to start the school year strong.

VVMC is honored to play a part in that mission. Investing in our community's children is investing in a healthier future for all of us.

Thank you to the BHHS Legacy Foundation for the incredible work you do for our community!
