Be a Buddy—Support Legacy Connection’s Backpack Buddies Youth Programs!
Across Maricopa County and the Tri-State region, Backpack Buddies is dedicated to ensuring that children in foster care, Title I schools and military families have the essentials they need to thrive. We provide a “total package” of support—including uniforms, shoes, hygiene items and school supplies— valued at $450 per student. By addressing these basic needs, we remove the barriers that stand between a child and their education.
Our commitment to the community extends far beyond the first day of school. Through Emergency Clothing Closets located on school campuses and our Legacy Library literacy initiatives, we provide a year-round safety net for students experiencing homelessness or crisis. Enhanced by the handmade
items from our Stitches of Love program, we ensure that our most vulnerable youth feel seen, supported and ready to thrive—in the classroom and beyond.
