How to Apply

Because there are so many health-related needs in the communities we support, requests for resources exceed the funds available for grants. To give your request the best chance for acceptance, please click here to be sure your organization and program meets the Foundation’s basic eligibility requirements and then follow these steps:

Step 1
BHHS Legacy Foundation awards grants to programs that fit the Foundation’s mission and align with our funding priorities. Click here to review the Foundation’s funding priorities to determine whether your proposed program aligns with the Foundation’s focus.

Step 2
Click here to review the Foundation’s previously funded organizations, projects, and programs to determine whether your organization and proposed program are appropriate for a funding request.

Step 3
Before submitting a request for funding, discuss your proposal with a Foundation vice president. As our Foundation doesn’t have typical application deadlines, our vice presidents of program development will provide guidance and feedback regarding the appropriateness of your request, whether a grant is likely for your cause, and at what stage of your project, program, or organization funding might occur. For programs serving the Phoenix region, contact Mary Thomson (mthomson@bhhslegacy.org). For programs serving the Tri-State region, which includes Greater Bullhead City, AZ; Laughlin, NV; and Needles, CA, contact Nancy Mongeau (nmongeau@bhhslegacy.org).

Step 4
When a Foundation vice president requests that you submit a Letter of Inquiry related to your proposed program, the Foundation will email you a link to the Letter of Inquiry through its online application system.

Step 5
If you receive an invitation to submit a full grant application, you will receive an email with a link to the application and other details through the Foundation’s online application system. An invitation to apply does not guarantee that the proposal will be funded. The Foundation staff and board of directors will perform an in-depth review to consider your application and a potential grant award. This step of the review process can take up to six weeks.

Your support can make a powerful difference in the lives of Arizona children and families.
