Community Partners Embrace New Bullhead City School District Teachers with Welcome Gifts

BULLHEAD CITY – Four key businesses and organizations have donated hundreds of individual welcome bag items for 40 new Bullhead City School District teachers. The initiative took shape after the Bullhead Area and Laughlin Chambers of Commerce spread the word about the community drive.

The new teachers include individuals relocating to the Colorado River Valley for the first time, locals who participated in BCSD’s and Northern Arizona University’s Grow Your Own program, experienced faculty from other schools and districts, student teachers, and current BCSD faculty transitioning into new roles.

Welcome bags and supplies were provided by the BHHS Legacy Foundation, Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce, Bullhead City Police Department, and Western Arizona Regional Medical Center. Each bag contains a variety of items ranging from visitor guides, area maps, notepads, and office supplies to cooling towels and restaurant gift cards.

“Once again, a very giving community has stepped up,” said BCSD Superintendent and 37-year local resident Dr. Carolyn Stewart. “Our many community partners help welcome classroom colleagues and support our district in a myriad of ways throughout the year.”

BCSD’s new teachers will serve students at all classroom levels, from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The school year begins July 27.
